ASTM A202 alloy steel plate is intended mainly for welded boilers and other pressure vessels. ASTM A202 material has two common variants (Grade A and B), each represented as a separate material. This specification dedigns Chromium-Manganese-Silicon alloy steel plates. The maximum thickness for the plates is limited under this standard to 2in. [50mm]. Grade A is suitable for rivets and when so used the bars shall be subjected to the requirements fot hot rolled bars specified in the specification.
