ASTM A387 Gr 12 CL1 steel and A387 Gr 12 CL2 steel are all called as ASTM A387 Gr 12 steel under specification standard ASTM A387/A387M for pressure vessel steel plates. The equal steel grade SA387 Gr 12 CL1 and SA387 Gr 12 CL2 are under American steel stamdard SA387/SA387M. ASTM A387 Gr 12 CL1 steel and A387 Gr 12 CL2 steel are intended primarily for welded boilers, pressure vessels and tanks.
Other than the five main elements, ASTM A387 Gr 12 CL1 steel and A387 Gr 12 CL2 steel also contains Chromium and Molybdenum in the chemical composition.
