Actually, LR AH36 steel plates is same with LR A36 steel plates. But some prefer to write as LR AH36 steel plates, and some prefer LR A36 steel plates.
However, this question become complicated because there is another kind A36 steel plates. That is ASTM A36 mild steel plates. But for A36 mild steel plates, it will not come together with classification society LR. Because mild steel do not need classification society certificate. If A36 come together with classification society, it means ASTM A131 A36/AH36 shipbuilding steel.
So, for easy understanding sake, it is better to write as complete as possible. For example: LR AH36 steel plates, ASTM A131 A36 steel plates with LR certificate, LR A36 shipbuilding steel plates, LR A36 marine steel plates., etc. Thus LR AH36 steel plates suppliers or clients will understand each other easily and avoid mistake understand and work.
