TBT 1979 05CuPCrNi weathering steel is widely used in buildings, bridges, containers, and railway vehicles. However, the high cost of TBT 1979 05CuPCrNi corrosion resistance phosphorous steel restricts its application in industry. It is necessary to develop a new type of low cost and high performance weatherproof material. In P (0.12%, mass fraction) carbon steel, adding different content of rare earth, through laboratory cycle immersion test, combining electrochemical method and X ray diffraction as well as scanning electron microscope and polarization curves, to study the effects of rare earth on the corrosion behavior of carbon steel containing phosphorus.
The results show that:
(1) Adding rare earth in TBT 1979 05CuPCrNi corrosion resistance phosphorous steel can effectively improve the corrosion resistance of steel. The corrosion rate of rare earth steel with 0.15% mass fraction is reduced to 55% of that without rare-earth steel. After adding rare earth, the good low temperature impact toughness can be obtained.
(2) The rust layer formed by accelerated corrosion test of TBT 1979 05CuPCrNi corrosion resistance phosphorous steel is composed of alpha -FeOOH, gamma -Fe2O3 and gamma -FeOOH. The addition of rare earth is beneficial to the formation of stable phase -FeOOH and the corrosion resistance of TBT 1979 05CuPCrNi corrosion resistance phosphorous steel.
