ASTM A633 Gr.E normalized high strength low alloy structural steel plates are available up to 6" in thickness. A633 Gr.E material shall have fine austenitic grain size and shall be normalized by heat treatment. A633 Gr.E steel chemical composition shall be determined by heat analysis, and its tension tests shall also be done. If A633 Gr.E steel plates thickness exceeds 75mm, the steel need double normalizing. If A633 Gr.E steel plates width exceeds 610mm,the elongation requirement is reduced two percentage points when rolling.
