P265GH is a European steel grade specified under the EN 10028-2 standard, commonly used in pressure vessel and boiler applications. This non-alloy steel is specifically designed to handle moderate pressure and temperature conditions, making it suitable for use in boiler components, heat exchangers, and other parts exposed to high temperatures in power plants and chemical processing industries.

Carbon (C): Max 0.20%

Silicon (Si): Max 0.40%

Manganese (Mn): 0.80–1.40%

Phosphorus (P): Max 0.025%

Sulfur (S): Max 0.015%

Copper (Cu), Nitrogen (N), Chromium (Cr): Typically trace amounts

Mechanical Properties:

Yield Strength: ≥ 265 MPa

Tensile Strength: 410–530 MPa

Elongation: Minimum of 22% in thickness up to 16 mm

Weldability:

P265GH has good weldability due to its low carbon content, allowing it to be welded without risk of hardening, making it an excellent choice for constructing welded pressure vessels.

Heat Resistance:

It performs well in high-temperature conditions, typically up to around 450°C, which makes it suitable for components like boiler plates and tanks in petrochemical and industrial environments.

Common Applications:

Boilers, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers in oil and gas, petrochemical, and power generation industries.

Storage tanks and piping systems that must withstand high temperatures.

P265GH is similar to other boiler and pressure vessel steels, such as ASTM A516 Grade 60. The material is valued for its combination of strength, durability, and ease of fabrication, ensuring safe operation in high-stress environments.
