What are the three types of steel pipe? steel plate

The three main types of Steel pipe used across various industries are:

Seamless Steel Pipe:

Manufacturing: Produced by extruding solid steel billets to form a hollow tube, making it a pipe with no seams.

Applications: Common in high-pressure environments such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, and high-temperature applications.

Advantages: Known for strength and uniformity, with better resistance to pressure and potential leaks due to its seamless structure.

Welded Steel Pipe:

Manufacturing: Made by bending steel sheets and welding the seam, using methods like Electric Resistance Welding (ERW), Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welding (LSAW), or Spiral Submerged Arc Welding (SSAW).

Applications: Often used for lower pressure applications, water and gas transport, structural purposes, and general construction.

Advantages: Cost-effective and available in larger diameters than seamless pipes.

Galvanized Steel Pipe:

Manufacturing: Made by coating steel pipes with a layer of zinc to prevent rusting.

Applications: Used primarily for plumbing, water supply, and some outdoor applications where corrosion resistance is required.

Advantages: More affordable and corrosion-resistant compared to bare steel, though it has lower pressure tolerance compared to seamless pipes.

These pipe types differ mainly in their production, application suitability, and corrosion resistance.
