Classifications and applications of low alloy structural steel steel plate

Low alloy structural steel refers to engineering steel with a small amount of alloying elements added on the basis of carbon structural steel. Low alloy structural steel includes low-alloy high-strength structural steel, low-alloy corrosion-resistant steel, low-alloy professional steel, alloy permeable steel, alloy quenched and tempered steel and alloy spring steel.

Low-alloy high-strength structural steel has higher strength than carbon structural steel with the same carbon content. Low-alloy high-strength structural steel has good plasticity, toughness, corrosion resistance, weldability, etc., and is widely used in the manufacture of bridges, ships, vehicles, boilers, steel structure parts such as pressure vessels and hoisting machinery, such as  09MnV, 18Nb, 12MnSiCu, etc.

Low-alloy corrosion-resistant steel has good weldability and atmospheric corrosion resistance. Low-alloy corrosion-resistant steel is suitable for bridges, buildings, and other structural parts with corrosion resistance requirements, such as 10MoVNiTi, 40MnMoNb, Cr4AlMo, etc.

Low-alloy professional steels have professional uses. The chemical composition of various steels can be adjusted according to the requirements of performance, such as low-alloy steel (20MnSi), low-alloy steel for railways (09CuPRE), and low-alloy steel for mining Steel (20MnVK) and so on.

There is also low-alloy carburized steel, which is quenched after carburization + low temperature tempering, so that the parts can obtain high hardness and high wear resistance, and its interior has sufficient plasticity and toughness, which is mainly used to produce excellent wear resistance, such as: 20CrMoTi, 20CrNi4, 20Cr, etc.

Alloy quenched and tempered steel, which is alloy steel after quenching and tempering, has comprehensive mechanical properties, including high strength, good plasticity and toughness. It is mainly used to manufacture some important components with complex forces such as 40Cr, 35CrMo, 38CrMoAl, etc.

Alloy spring steel has high strength and high fatigue limit and sufficient plasticity and toughness. It is mainly used to manufacture elastic parts in various machines and instruments. These parts use elastic deformation to absorb energy to slow vibration and impact, or rely on elastic storage of energy to act as a driving force, such as 60Si2Mn, etc.
