Deliver Condition:
A283 Grade C steel plate can be delivered in +AR, +N, or +M condition.
Normalizing rolling (+N): rolling process in which the final deformation is carried out in a certain temperature range leading to a material condition equivalent to that obtained after normalizing so that the specified values of the mechanical properties are retained even after normalizing.
As-rolled (+AR): delivery condition without any special rolling and/or heat treatment condition.
Thermo-mechanical rolling (+M): rolling process in which the final deformation is carried out in a certain temperature range leading to a material condition with certain properties which cannot be achieved or repeated by heat treatment alone.
Machinability:
A283 Grade C steel is machinable with common operations such as cutting, grinding and welding.
Application:
A283 Gr C steel is mainly used to build factories, high voltage power transmission tower, Bridges, vehicles, boiler furnace, containers, ships, etc., also a lot less used as performance requirements for mechanical parts.
