Grade 410 is similar to UNS S41000. 410/UNS S41000 is chromium-manganese-nickel stainless steel as specified in ASTM A240 standard. A240 410 chromium-manganese-nickel stainless steel is available in plates, sheets and strips. This alloy sheets can be used for pressure vessels and for general applications.
A240 410 ss also is a corrosion and heat resistant martensitic stainless steel, which containing approximately 12% chromium offering a wide range of mechanical properties through heat treatment. Therefore, A240 410 stainless steel sheets are used for cutlery applications, kitchen utensils and hand tools and is magnetic in both the annealed and hardened conditions.
