What are the main differences between hot rolled steel plate and cold rolled steel plate? steel plate

1. Different appearance and surface quality

Since the cold rolled steel plate is obtained after the cold-rolling process of the Hot rolled steel plate, and the cold rolled steel plate will also undergo some surface treatment at the same time, the surface quality of the cold rolled steel plate is better than that of the hot rolled steel plate. Therefore, if the product is painted and the coating quality has higher requirements, cold-rolled steel plates are generally selected.

2. Different performance

Under normal circumstances, the mechanical properties of hot rolled steel plates and cold rolled steel plates are considered to be indistinguishable in engineering. Although cold rolled steel plates have a certain degree of work hardening during the cold rolling process, cold rolled steel plates usually have a slightly lower yield strength than hot rolled steel plates. The surface hardness is also higher, specifically depending on the degree of annealing of the cold rolled steel plate. But no matter how annealed, the strength of cold rolled steel plate is higher than that of hot rolled steel plate.

3. Different forming properties

Since the performance of cold rolled steel plates and hot rolled steel plates are basically not much different, the influencing factors of formability depend on the difference in surface quality. Because the surface quality of cold rolled steel plates is better, generally speaking, steel sheets of the same material have better forming effects than hot rolled steel plates.
