What are the differences between Q345B steel and 20# steel steel plate

1. Different properties: Q345B steel is a low-carbon alloy steel (c<0.2%). The carbon content of 20# steel is 0.2%, which is a low-carbon steel.

2. Different features

Q345B steel has good overall performance, good low temperature performance, good cold stamping performance, welding performance and machinability.

In addition to carbon (C) element, 20# steel also contains a certain amount of silicon (Si) (generally no more than 0.40%), manganese (Mn) (generally no more than 0.80%, higher up to 1.20%) and other alloying elements .

3. Different applications

Q345B steel is widely used in bridges, vehicles, ships, buildings, pressure vessels, etc. Q stands for yield, and 345 means that the yield value is around 345MPa, and the yield value decreases as the thickness of the material increases.

20# steel is used in the manufacture of small and medium-sized carburizing and carbonitriding parts that are not important in automobile, tractor and general machinery manufacturing, such as handbrake shoes, lever shafts, transmission speed forks, transmission passive gears and camshafts on tractors, suspension equalizer shafts, equalizer inner and outer bushings, etc.
