Wear resistant steel plate is a special plate product specially designed for large area wear condition. At present, the commonly used wear resistant steel plate is made of common low-carbon steel or low-alloy steel with good toughness and plasticity by surfacing welding method to composite alloy wear-resistant layer with high hardness and good wear resistance of a certain thickness. In addition, there are cast wear resistant steel plate and alloy quenched wear resistant steel plate. wear resistant steel plate is composed of low carbon steel sheet and alloy wear-resistant layer. The alloy wear-resistant layer is generally 1/3~1/2 of the total thickness. The matrix provides the strength, toughness and plasticity of resisting external forces, and the alloy wear-resistant layer provides the wear-resistant performance to meet the requirements of specified working conditions.

The metallurgical bonding between the alloy wear-resistant layer and the base plate of the wear resistant steel plate. Through special equipment and automatic welding technology, the high hardness self-shielding alloy welding wire is welded evenly on the base plate. The number of composite layers is from one layer to two layers or even multi-layers. In the process of composite, due to the different shrinkage ratio of alloy, uniform transverse cracks appear, which is the remarkable feature of wear resistant steel plate.

The wear-resistant layer of the alloy is mainly chromium alloy, and other alloys such as manganese, molybdenum, niobium and nickel are added. The carbides in the metallographic structure are fibrous and the direction of the fibers is perpendicular to the surface. The microhardness of carbides can reach over HV1700-2000 and the surface hardness can reach HRC58-62. Alloy carbides have strong stability at high temperature, maintain high hardness, and have good antioxidant properties. They can be used normally within 500 C.
