1. Gas cutting characteristics: like ordinary steel plates, NM400 abrasion resistant steel plates can be processed by gas cutting and have good gas cutting characteristics. In order to prevent cracks in the steel plate during gas cutting, high gas pressure and oxygen should be selected, and the cutting speed should be lower. In special circumstances, it is recommended to preheat the cutting, the preheating temperature during cutting is 60℃-90℃.
2. Hot and cold forming characteristics: although NM400 abrasion resistant steel plate has high strength and hardness, its cold bending performance is good, and the steel plate can be cold-formed. In order to prevent the steel plate from cracking at the edges during cold working, the flame cutting or shearing edges need to be ground in the bending area. NM400 abrasion resistant steel plate has good hot workability. After the hot work, the steel plate needs to be tempered at low temperature, and the tempering temperature is 250℃-350℃.
3. Machining characteristics: NM400 abrasion resistant steel plate has good cutting and shearing performance. When machining steel plates, the amount of feed and feed speed should be reasonably selected according to the hardness of the steel plate. The tool material is usually high-speed steel or cemented carbide. For cutting and grinding, carbide surface tools are required.
