Heat treatment of SGCC steel and its influence steel plate

SGCC steel is hot-dip galvanized steel, and its heat treatment mainly refers to the heat treatment steps carried out in the manufacturing process. Here are some common heat treatment methods and their effects:

1. Hot rolling treatment: SGCC steel undergoes the hot rolling (hot tandem rolling) process in the production process, that is, the shape and size of the material is changed by rolling at high temperatures. This treatment can increase the density and uniformity of the steel and improve its mechanical properties.

2. Galvanized treatment: One of the characteristics of SGCC steel is that its surface has a zinc coating. This is achieved by dipping the steel into molten zinc for a hot-dip galvanizing process. Galvanizing not only provides a corrosion resistant protective layer for the steel, but also increases the strength and hardness of the steel.

3. Passivation treatment: Passivation is a surface treatment technology for galvanized steel, designed to improve its corrosion resistance. Acidic solutions or chemicals, such as chromic acid and phosphoric acid, are usually used to treat the surface of galvanized steel to form a dense protective layer of oxides or phosphates.

These heat treatments have an impact on the properties of SGCC steel:

Mechanical properties: Hot rolling and galvanizing can improve the mechanical properties of SGCC steel, such as strength, hardness and toughness. Hot rolling helps to improve the uniformity and density of the steel and increase its strength. At the same time, the galvanized treatment makes the steel with higher hardness and durability.

- Corrosion resistance: Galvanizing and passivation treatments significantly improve the corrosion resistance of SGCC steel. The zinc coating provides an effective protective layer against corrosion when the steel comes into contact with air, water or chemicals. At the same time, the protective layer formed by passivation treatment further enhances corrosion resistance.

In summary, the heat treatment of SGCC steel mainly includes hot rolling, hot galvanizing and passivation steps, which can improve the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of steel, and improve its performance and service life in various applications.
