EN 1.4435 stainless steel is 316L stainless steel, corresponding grade: 00Cr17Ni14Mo2, ultra-low carbon stainless steel, has good comprehensive performance and process performance, and is currently widely used austenitic stainless steel. The chemical composition elements of EN 1.4435 stainless steel are as follows:
Carbon C: ≤0.03
Silicon Si: ≤1.00
Manganese Mn: ≤2.00
Phosphorus P: ≤0.045
Sulfur S: ≤0.030
Molybdenum Mo: 2.50~3.00
Nickel Ni: 12.50~15.00
EN 1.4435 stainless steel is an acid-resistant austenitic CrNiMo steel with 18% Cr, approx. 14% Ni and at least 2.5% Mo. Due to the increased Mo content, the material has significantly improved corrosion resistance compared to other CrNi steels. EN 1.4435 stainless steel is particularly resistant to reducing the influence of organic and inorganic organic acids and of halogen-containing media.
In addition, EN 1.4435 stainless steel is also less susceptible to pitting corrosion. The extremely low carbon content also improves intergranular corrosion resistance, allowing the use of EN 1.4435 stainless steel in continuous operation at high temperatures up to 450°C. 1.4435 also polishes very well, deforms very well and welds excellently.
