ArcelorMittal calls for the introduction of "green boundary adjustment" in Europe, that is, steel products imported into Europe should implement the same carbon emission standards as steel products produced in Europe under the framework of the carbon emissions trading system (ETS).
After this adjustment, the shortage of carbon dioxide quotas will be compensated by importers. ArcelorMittal believes that "green boundary adjustment" will encourage enterprises to reduce carbon emissions, while preventing the competitiveness of European steel industry from being eroded.
