Vanadium microalloy chemical production and welding for A572 grade 50 steel plate steel plate

Responding to the problems of large fluctuation range of yield strength, low elongation, cracking during cold bending and high production cost of low alloy and high strength A572 grade 50 steel plate, Combining with the characteristics of vanadium and titanium resources in local, BBN steel puts forward that the production of A572 grade 50 steel plate by vanadium microalloying process is improved by adopting measures of vanadium extraction, silicon reduction and manganese reduction. That will improve A572 grade 50 steel plate quality and reduce production cost at the same time.

The thermal cycle and angular deformation of A572 grade 50 steel plate during multi-layer and multi-channel welding were measured by K-type contact thermocouple temperature measuring module and laser displacement sensing system. The results show that the peak temperature of thermal cycle of multi-layer multi-pass welding increases with the approach of the weld bead; the closer to the weld seam, the higher the peak temperature, the faster the corresponding heating rate; welding angular deformation mainly occurs in the welding stage, showing a gradual increase, while in the interlayer cooling stage is very small, and the final welding angular deformation is about 4.78 degrees.
