ASTM A612 covers killed carbon- manganese-silicon steel plates intended for welded pressure vessels in service at moderate and lower temperatures. ASTM A612 is normally supplied in the as-rolled condition. ASTM A612 may be ordered normalized or stress relieved, or both. The steel shall conform to the required chemical compositions.
