Heat treatment of EN10083-3 51CrV4 alloy steel plates for mechanical processing steel plate

51CrV4 steel is a fine grained and high wear resistant chromium alloy steel. It has high tensile strength and toughness for automobile engineering and gear and engine structures, etc. Under heat treatment conditions, EN10083-3 51CrV4 alloy steel plate has excellent impact resistance and toughness.

Heat treatment of EN10083-3 51CrV4 alloy steel plates:
Annealing: Like 5150 alloy steel, the microstructure of 51CrV4 alloy steel with the best machinability is coarse flake pearlite to coarse spheroid. This can be achieved by austenitizing at 1400 F (760 C) and then isothermal annealing at 1250 C (680 C).

The normalizing temperature of 51CrV4 alloy steel is 5~ (1650) F (900 C).

Quenching of EN10083-3 51CrV4 alloy steel plate: 1550-1625f (845-885) austenitizing and oil quenching for small, complex sections and water quenching for large, simple sections.

Tempering of 51CrV4 steel: from 1000-1250 F (540-680 C) according to required performance.
