The difference between 40MnB steel and 35CrMo steel steel plate

The difference between 40MnB steel and 35CrMo steel depends on the effect of alloying elements. Mn and Cr can improve the strength, hardness and wear resistance, reduce the critical cooling rate, and improve the hardenability of 35CrMo steel. But Mn can improve the low temperature toughness of 40MnB steel.

And Cr can improve the heat resistance of 35CrMo steel and make 35CrMo steel have corrosion resistance to strong oxidizing acids and other corrosive media. That is, Mn is used at low temperature and Cr/Mo is used at high temperature, which makes the alloy steel with lower carbon content have higher hardness. Moreover, molybdenum can prevent the austenitizing grain from being coarser. Also, molybdenum causes the C curve to shift to the right, resulting in a reduction in undercooling and a significant increase in hardenability of 35CrMo steel.
