European Union makes preliminary anti-dumping ruling on hot rolled stainless steel involving China steel plate

On April 8, 2020, the European Commission issued an announcement to make an affirmative preliminary ruling on anti-dumping of hot rolled stainless steel sheets and coils originating in China, Taiwan and Indonesia and decided to impose a temporary anti-dumping duty of 6 months on the companies involved in the case from the day after this announcement is published in the official gazette. The tax rates are detailed in the table below. The customs codes of the products involved are 721911, 721912, 721913, 721914, 721922, 721923, 721924, 722011 and 722012. The investigation period of dumping and damage in this case is from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019. The damage analysis period is from January 1, 2016 to the end of the dumping and damage investigation period.

On August 12, 2019, the European Commission issued a notice stating that the European Steel Association (the European Steel Association) submitted an application on June 28, 2019 on behalf of the EU hot-rolled stainless steel coil producer. Anti-dumping investigations were conducted on hot rolled stainless steel coils in the region and Indonesia.
