40Cr steel plate Heat treatment process and performance advantages steel plate

40Cr steel is a low-alloy structural steel commonly used in the manufacture of mechanical parts and engineering components. The heat treatment process usually includes annealing, normalizing and quenching.

1. Annealing: The 40Cr steel plate is heated to the appropriate temperature (usually 800-850 degrees Celsius), and then slowly cooled. Annealing can eliminate the internal stress and improve the toughness and workability of the material.

2. Normalizing: Heat 40Cr steel plate at 800-850 degrees Celsius, and then cool it quickly. Normalizing can increase the hardness and strength of the steel plate, improve its wear resistance and tensile strength.

3. Quenching: Heat 40Cr steel plate to 830-860 degrees Celsius, and then cool it quickly. Quenching makes the surface of the steel plate form martensitic structure, improve hardness and wear resistance, but may lead to increased brittleness.

The performance advantages of 40Cr steel plate include:
